Needlework project keeper
Could this still be used without taking your work off the 8 inch plastic frame? I know it wouldn’t lay flat but would the piece be large enough to enclose your project and keep it clean, etc.? I’m tired of wrapping mine up at night in a tea towel or pillow case!

I think I would be just fine and what a great idea. A while back I bought some nylon zipper pouches at the dollar store for storing small projects and they work great too. Love what you've stitched so far. Post the finished project too.

I use the really large ziploc/glad/hefty bags to store my project. If it is on a hoop or q-snap, it slides right in and you can zip it shut. My current Artecy project is a larger one which I have on scroll rods on a floor frame so each evening when I am done stitching for the night, I place a kitchen towel over it to keep dust, etc off. The ziploc/hefty/glad bags come really big these days. I always keep some on hand so that as I get new projects lined up, I can store the pattern, fabric and floss all together so it is ready to go when I am ready to start a new one. Currently, I have at least 15 ready to go but I still keep buying new patterns. Can't seem to stop!

I know what you mean - mine are filed in a large container - I’m not sure I’ll live long enough to finish half of them! Thanks for the good tip - will look for the large bags next time I’m out shopping.

Oooooo - thank you for the storage bags tip! I use them for my knitting yarn stash - each project in its own bag with pattern and I don't know why it never occurred to me to use them for my cross stitch as well. Like cynmcollins, I've been looking on cross stitch websites for something to keep my in-progress stitching project clean without having to take it off my 11 inch plastic frame. The plastic bags are perfect!

This would be great to travel with and has storage for threads and things.
