Is this like a kit?
I have a friend in prison who would like to do a cross stitch piece and is asking for a kit. I don't know what a kit includes so I'm wondering if this project with recommended string supplies includes everything he would need to complete this eagle?
I'll be waiting to see the answer. Thank you.

This is just a pattern, Melvina, not a kit. The supplies needed are listed next to the picture, and are all available on this website! Best of luck!

Hi there

The word kit means it is a package containing everything to finish the picture that U had choose as fabric, floss, and instruction plus the needle and sometime buttons or beads beside the frame. Have fun .

Melvina - If you click the "add all" button after the supplies list, it will add all of the threads and the fabric to complete the pattern. The only thing you will need to add separately is a tapestry needle, probably size 24 or 26 will work for this.

It's a big project for a beginner, but doable.

Wow, I have to be honest, this is more then a beginner can handle. I've been cross stitching for forty years and I would not take this on. I send my best wishes for his success.

I agree with Linda B. A beginner might really give up on this. When I started, I got really simple things because I knew I would get discouraged with even a intermediate project. He may catch on quick and want something more difficult. However, he may have done this before and want something way difficult.

Your suggestions helped me a lot. I think I need to choose a more simple project. I'm sure he hasn't done this before. He told me to pick out something I liked but I will need to like something more simple. Thanks much.

I am wondering if they will allow him to have a needle in prison. This may be considered a "dangerous" weapon in the prison system. Before you spend the money to order him a project I would contact the facility that he is in to ask.

I agree with that. I would first check to see whether needles and scissors, which he will need to cut thread are allowable.
Every prison institution is different in their policies, so even if one says yes, another may say no.
