They should be fine for the seed beeds. You might want to go smaller - to a #12 for petites. The appliqué needles have a sharp point. Usually use tapestry beaders for cross stitch.

These are the only ones I use. Years ago I bought others, but they were so long as to be unwieldy. These are perfect! I do believe they come in different sizes... never noticed tho.
