I did this and used 16 count aida. If you want a bigger picture you could do it on 14 count aida. The colour I used was Confederate Gray which may not be available anymore as I purchased the cloth for this picture and two other Lavender and Lace santas at the same time approximately 20-21 year ago.

The recommended fabric and size is listed on the product description of the pattern. It's stitched on 32ct. Natural Linen and the size we sell for this design is 18" x 27" since the completed design size is 12.5" x 15.4".

You can definitely stitch this design on a different type and count of fabric. You would just have to figure out the sizing dimensions for the fabric you want to use and then order the size piece you need based on how many inches you would like to surrounding your design.
