Move this one from WIP to Finished
I wanted to share this stocking I finished for my newest GD. A while ago we were chatting about finishing techniques and I wanted to share mine. I cut bias strips from the backing material, and bind the stocking as one might bind a quilt. I machine stitch the layers of backing, and the back of the binding, then roll it to the front and slip stitch it by hand. It sounds much harder than it actually is.😉

marshair this is really pretty. Thank you for sharing. May need to snoop around for that pattern. Love angels. Alas, not sure I will ever have anything but grand dogs. But that’s okay too (I guess.)

I’ll bet your GD will love this! Very pretty! The stocking finished curves are done soo nicely, something I can not do.

You inspire me to get my one out (my first one) and start sewing it together for this Christmas. I have everything I need just the self-confidence and it should all come together.

Wow, awesome! That is one gorgeous sock. I love how the red just pops. And, no. Finishing it was amazing. I have the my Santa and Woodlands Friend sock done and it is at a seamstress. I sew and I measure twice and cut once, however, I was afraid to mess this up and have all my hard work done for nothing. So, you have a job well done. Thanks for sharing. Peace. Pam

That is really beautiful. I am sure your GD will love it. I used to have my mom finish all of my designs like that, but she is gone now. I do have my grandson's grandma finish some of my stuff into pillows.

Thank you all for your kind remarks. I have done these for all the members of the family, so this was number 14 for me. I try to match the stocking with the person, but not so easy with the newer members since their personalities haven't revealed themselves yet, but all the girls got angels so I carried on the tradition. Again, thank you all.
