From Ebay I ordered a "Sleepy Bunnies' crib quilt top. Rec'd it fine BUT there should have been TWO 'hanks' of thread but only one. The color listing is separated into '# of STRANDS' rather than 'SKEINS'. My brain is having trouble deciding how much thread I need to order now. The 'strands' are each 36" long. If it states that I need 10 'strands' how many 'skeins' do I need to order? How about 26 'strands'? Most are 10 strands and under so I figure probably ONE skein is enough, right? Sorry to be so dumb; just having trouble converting these to the 8.7' in DMC skeins. Thanks so much to anyone who can help as quickly as possible.

Hi, What company did this quilt top come from? The outside packaging should have a name of the company and a phone number on it. If you find the phone number, give them a call to assist you. If you can’t find a phone number, go on the computer and put in the company’s name to find their website. See if that helps..:)

If you are unhappy you should contact the seller you purchased it from.

I'm assuming you have enough info to know the total amount of thread you need of each color. If you say each "strand" is 36" that is equal to 1 yard, and each skein of DMC is 8.7 yards. So, you would get 8 lengths out of each skein (with some to spare). Also keep in mind that would be if using all 6 threads per length, adjust for 3 threads, or 2 threads which would mean your lengths would go even farther. If your calculations are close, I recommend rounding up and get that extra skein. Hope this helps.

marshair, thank you SO MUCH for your reply. By using it, I was readily able to figure out how much thread I needed to complete the item. I just started stitching on it today...
