I am a cross stitcher who visits this chat board and saw your post here. I will try and answer your question based on a quick look at this item. If you have no experience with cross stitch, this project is larger at 9"x14", which would make this project more challenging for a first time project. This is a stamped cross stitch design, so x's will be stamped onto the fabric but the stamped x's look to be all one color on the fabric (having seen the fabric for this design at another location), so you will need to follow a chart to know what color thread to use for the design portions that you need to fill in with stitches. Part of the background is printed onto the fabric, but I think the tree and wolf portions you will need to fill in with cross stitch. I hope that answers what you need to know.
