Happy Autumnal Equinox
or First Day of Fall! And, boy, it feels like it here this morning. We're at 41 degrees! But the sun is brightly shining, so we'll probably warm up pretty fast.

HOORAY!!! What a miserable sticky, hot, buggy summer! At last I can breathe! 😊

I agree. Been hot and humid and rainy in Cols all summer. Bring on fall.

It is so nice to not be sticking to everything. Some of the trees in the area are getting ready to turn, farmers are in the fields and I am seeing a lot of pumpkins on peoples porches. We went to a marching band competition last night. What a difference from last Saturday. It really felt like fall, people covered with blankets, most wearing sweatshirts, and an almost full moon.

I absolutely love this weather! Fall has always been my favorite. It just makes me feel better. The cooler weather, the turning leaves, the crunch as you walk on them, pumpkins, straw .....etc......

Oh, I definitely agree, Carol, it's my favorite time of the year, also. I heard this morning that 2018 will go down in the record books as the 4th hottest summer in the U.S. since they started keeping records. Boy, I don't doubt that at all! I'm happy to go back to jeans and hoodies!

Okay, back to football, half time is over and the Vikings are getting clobbered by Buffalo. Hopefully, the second half will be an improvement over the first half. 😟 UPDATE: Except for a TD in the late 4th quarter, the second half was no better thn the first. Final score: 27 to 7. The Vikings, obviously, did not come to the stadium ready to play football. Buffalo did. Dang it! Oh, and Green Bay wasn't any better. They got beat by Washington, 31 to 17. Not a good day for the local teams.

I questioned a few of the calls by the refs against Green Bay, ESPECIALLY THE PENALTY CALL AGAINST Clay Matthews jr. TACKLING THE QUARTERBACK. ITs that new NFL rule- watched an interview with a head referee and they questioned what the refs look For and the ref said it has to do with the angle of the tackler’s back, whether it is the tacklers full weight, etc. Everyone understands it’s got to do with safety but one announcer is saying even the quarterbacks don’t like this new rule. Oops, I’m ranting but I’m ranting WITHOUT MY HEAD COMING IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE ELSE’s HEAD, NO 30% ARCH IN MY BACK AND NO FULL BODY WEIGHT!!!

and the referee just made the ‘new rule’ call against the Seahawks (versus Cowboys) game..

We didn't get to see the Packer's game today 1) because they were on at the same time as the Vikings; and 2) because we're on the wrong side of the state, as I mentioned before. We only get to see the Packers play if they are on Sunday Night or Monday Night or Thursday Night Football. Otherwise forget it. I think Clay Matthews got called for roughing the passer under the new rule during the Vikings and Packers game last week. He was livid!

Well, he (Matthews) was called on it tonight. Even some of the sportscasters are saying if this ‘roughing the passer rule is called, it should automatically be reviewed and reversible. My opinion, It is too SUBJECTIVE of a rule. I’m all for safety but after seeing Matthews ‘hit’ tonight, Ididn’t see It as a penalty....but what do I know? I’m just an old lady that watches football...
.Matthews plays like his dad.. :)
