Barb, you can use any fabric you want but yes the picture will be bigger in size if you use 14 count Aida. I plugged it into the fabric calculator and got a stitched area of 15.7 X 18.6 with a fabric size of 22 X 24. My guess would be you will need to buy extra floss if you don't have the colors in your stash already. If you are willing you can stitch it on 16 count Aida over one and it would be the same as stitching it on the 32 count linen over 2 as suggested. Hope this helps. Take care and happy stitching.

I don't want to discourage you. My sister had MS and I cannot imagine her attempting a project like this. In fact, I cannot imagine myself attempting it. Have you stitched a project this size before? There is embellishing involved and I'm guessing some 1/4 stitches. You will probably run out of some colors. You would not need double because there would be some of the flosses that would only require a few stitches.
