tapestry cat
Got the first page done whew.....my advise...count, count, count. didn't make any mistakes because I counted and caught them early. Question: what do you do with all the fabric hanging down? I am using a small hoop better for my arthritic hands. what do you all suggest for the needle threader? Been using the inexpensive ones but they don't last long. any other help??? Love doing it but at 84 I hope I will get it finished before I'm finished. hahahaha

Wow that is intense. Did you add grid lines to the fabric?

I am working on a 16 pager and using a Q-snaps frame for stitching. I roll up the extra fabric with the finished side in and hold it with hair clips. These clips are round-ish and were called butterfly clips at one time. They fit over the rolled fabric and are lightweight and easy to move. I found them at the grocery with the hair accessories so really nothing special.
I too am looking for a decent needle threader, especially for 26 & 28 needles.

For needle threaders, I really like this one (see picture). I believe it is made by Mill Hill. It is strong and not like those flimsy one that one would use on sewing thread. It works really well with 24's and a with a 26 it grabs a little. I bought them online but don't remember where.

With the cheap threaders I hold the wires when I am pulling the thread thru and they last much longer😊

My favorite threader is a metal tapestry threader by Dritz their item #10500 (unfortunately they do not sell it here at ECS). It is all metal and has a threader on each end. One with a large hole, one with a small hole on the opposite side and it's sturdy, not flimsy wire. Like you, I use strong plastic laundry clips to hold all the excess fabric that hangs around my hoop. Happy stitching!

I did get pre gridded and for this project and large projects I suggest it on the area I am working I go over the grinding with "fine point Mark-B-Gone" pen it makes it easier to see. Thanks for info on needle threaders very helpful
