Can you explain the problem you are having and maybe a picture of your project.

Thank you Ladies. i never worked with suede before and i guess what i need to do to make the dream catcher right is to create a grid to follow properly the design. but how to anchor the suede ? here is a picture of the design and picture to my project work. i really appreciate your response.

I don't see your photo any where. It may be too large? It needs to be 4 pixils or less for this site.
I 've never worked with suede before. Sorry I can't help you. Diana

I am recovering from surgery, but have extensive experience with leather, suede and imitation suede. I have this pattern and can try to find it before Friday if I can. I think that I can help.

Happy to hear you are up and about Su. I have never use leather for cross stitch so not able to provide any useful input. I bet it is beautiful though. Please post a pic when you are done.

Thank you all. Su i hope that you're doing fine after your surgery. i started this project some few years again and dropped it because it was difficult to understand how to do the dream catcher part. now i'm retired and would love to finish it.
you all have a good day. Martine

I worked on a part of this pattern many years ago -- probably close to 20 years ago! As best as I can recall, the dreamcatcher itself was worked with a suede-like fiber that was in a narrow strip (it was a single strand or strip, rather than a multi-strand floss or woven/twisted fiber), and it was multi-colored ranging from navy blue - brick red - beige/tan.

I remember having trouble with getting the 'suede' into my usual stitching needles, so I used a larger-eyed needle to complete the dreamcatcher. Because the dreamcatcher is stitched in very long stitches, I also had trouble 'anchoring' the suede at the beginning and ending of stitching -- I left 'tails' that were a few inches long and then used regular sewing thread that was the close to the color of the background fabric to whip-stitch the tails to the back of the fabric (because the sewing thread was almost the same color as the background fabric and I used rather small whip stitches, the stitching wasn't easily visible).

You didn't specify what you were having difficulty with, but hopefully this will help.

(I say that I worked on "part" of the project because I never completed it -- I had completed about half of it before setting it aside for several months, and it then became a farewell gift for a close friend who was a stitcher and was moving out of the area. Although we lost touch some years ago, she did finish the needlework and sent me a photo of the framed work hanging in her home).
