Mill Hill Spring Bouquet
Just picked up my first beaded kit from a local stitching store. Didn't mean to not buy from ECS just like to support small town shops sometimes. Anyway, a little nervous to work with beads. I will let you know how it goes.

Mill Hill kits are so pretty when finished! The beads add a little something to the finished piece. Good Luck and Happy Stitching!!

I did my first beaded kits last year. (Christmas ornaments for my brother-in-law.) It turned out to be much easier than I thought, and they really looked nice when they were finished. I watched a you-tube video to get started. Based on the instructions in the video, I found a shallow dish to put them in when I was working - made it easier to thread those little buggers on to the needle. I am no longer intimidated to work with beads, and I am considering replacing french knots with beads next time I run across them in a pattern. Good luck!!

If you're worried about beads getting lost, a Tacky B.O.B. works well. It's about the size of a CD case and has a sticky inside to put your beads on. And yes they sometimes jump ship but there's not danger of all of them falling on the rug etc. If you can't find one, a post it note will work just as well. Put them on the sticky pit and pick them up from there. Good luck and have fun. Also post a picture when you're done.

Good to hear from you, Ladyj! Seems likes it's been a while ... or maybe I just missed your posts. Anyway, glad to see you on the blog! :)

I'm with you on using beads for french knots. None of my french knots turn out the same. I have been using beads for years instead of the french knots.

I agree with Judy, a Tacky B.O.B is the way to go! Works great!
