The 10 count is going to give you a larger design than the 14 count. I like using the 14 count but that is preferable on my part. Pam

10ct is 10 stitches per inch. The higher the number, the more stitches per inch. 32ct = 32 stitches per inch.

Therefore, the fabric background for REGULAR cross stitch fabrics will look visually finer with the higher count fabrics such as 25, 28, 30, 32 and 36 count fabrics- you can’t see the fabric holes well with the higher count fabrics like you can with 10 count,14 count Aida fabric.
If you are speaking of ‘Waste canvas’ I had to send away to the U.K. to purchase a piece of waste canvas that was 28-count
