This looks like a pattern booklet for breadcloths. I'm just a stitcher, but it seems to me that it is counted cross stitch and you will have to buy the cloths separately (as well as the floss). I think I'm reading your post correctly, but you can choose which pattern you want to go on each cloth or you can mix and match. That's the beauty of counting cross stitch - you can let your imagination run wild!

If you are not used to counting cross stitch, there's some wonderful videos on YouTube on how to get started and it will show you everything up to intermediate level and/or higher.
