Fabric for a Counted Cross stitch project
The instructions suggest 14 count Navy blue aida fabric for this project but I was wondering if I could use a different material like the Lugana? Not sure how that would translate as far as size. I could think if I went withe the 28 count I would
go over 2? Not crazy about the aida - it is too stiff:(
Any suggestions?

You are correct in that if you stitch on 28 over 2 you will get the same size. I love stitching on different colors. Pam

If you google counted cross stitch calculator that will help with any future measurements and calculates what size you are going from if you choose to use a different count or cloth.

Thank you, Kaney. I will use that myself!

If I think a fabric is too stiff, I wash it by hand or should I say rinse, because I just use plain water. Then after I swish it around a bit, change the water, rinse it out and roll in a big clean towel that I save for cross stitch only! Then it sits to dry and When nearly dry, I iron it and see f it has softened. It is fabric sizing that is added after a fabric is weaved. It is available, to stiffen fabric at most stores with their ironing stuff. NOT spray starch, but called sizing or fabric finish.
