Hydrangeas and Shells Counted Stitch
I'm over half way through this project. It is a beautiful pattern and I'm thrilled with the way it is turning out. However, I have run out of four cottons so far and think some more will be short before I finish. As I'm in Aussie land I have to find similar colors out here. Is this normal to not have enough to finish a project? I'm posting picture of my piece so far.

It's turning out very pretty. I have seen other posts where people have said they run out of thread when doing kits. You would think companies would provide more than enough supplies. Evidently they have the ability to stitch the same chart but use less floss than everyone else. 🤔

Hi sylviajbow-
I’m one of the stitchers that saw your chat. If you are running out of floss to finish this beautiful picture, I researched and found this is a kit by Dimensions. Dimensions has its own website and here is the phone number I found on their websitete: 1-833-201-5260.
If you call them and let them know you are short on the floss needed to finish this project, they can probably help you out. Like Marzhere has stated, this has occurred with other stitchers as well and some stitchers have stated that Dimensions was able to assist them in procuring extra floss. The phone number I listed above is their ‘customer service’ number. Hope this helps. :)

Hi Bermuda Thank you for replying to my chat re shortage of cotton (or floss as you call it). As I am in Australia I will try to purchase the floss here as it would work out too expensive to order it from USA. I am very thrifty with my usage so am surprised to be running out of floss - I'm up to six short now and still a way to go. As this is only my second X Stitch I imagine I will accumulate quite a bank of colors over time and hopefully will be able to mix and match.

Sylvia surprised no one mentioned this but try going to cyberstitchers.com and use their conversion charts for Dimensions to DMC. May save you some time.

I think they would ship the floss for free. I was going to order this myself ---- is this all full stitches? It looks beautiful!

I too had a shortage of thread on a Dimensions kit once and found the conversion chart on-line. Now I convert the colours to DMC and use the kit colours for small things.

Thank you Judy and Kris for your info. I have found the conversion on line so will try my local craft shop to see if I can get the cotton here.
And yes, Crusin 60, there are a lot of half stitches in this project, and also some full cross stitches use five strands of cotton at once! There is also a lot of back stitching and I've done some so far and it makes a big difference. I think the detail in this project is beautiful and I have just ordered another four of their kits, so that will keep me going for at least the next 12 months!! This is only my second attempt so you can see I'm well and truly addicted to stitching!

Sylvia, contact the manufacturer, Demensions directly letting them know you were not given enough thread (floss) in your kit you purchased. It should say they'll send you extra thread. The company is located in the U. S. A. so telephoning them may be expensive from Australia. If you are able to call their toll free number, use 1-800-794-5866 during Central Standard Time, Mon-Fri 8 am- 4 pm. I would e-mail them at: www.demension-crafts.com or www.simplicity.com/contactus.

Luckily for me I've always had enough thread to complete any kit I stitched. Demensions is one of the better kit companies I seen on this website to fix an error for their customers. Good Luck!. Let us know how things go in obtaining more thread.

Just a stitcher who saw your post.

Sylviajbow, your work looks amazing so far. That is a beautiful project. Sorry to hear that you are running out of floss. I would try to contact the company, as others have said. Please keep us posted.

Thank you everyone again for your helpful advice. I'm learning all the time. Was easy to convert thread colors to what I can purchase over here. The floss as you call it is only 55cents so I was able to buy what I needed. The picture is coming to life now and I love it!
