Page 5 is in the books!
Finally finished page 5 of Night Watchman. I just love this piece. Sadly, I have to put it away for the summer because I have some other projects that need my attention ... but September is coming! Page 6 begins underneath page 1, so when I start back up, I will finally be going vertical. Can't wait! :) [If you press "View Item" you can see what the finished piece will eventually look like.]

Wow!!! Beautiful work! How many pages do you have left to complete this?

Thanks, Bermuda! Only 20 pages left to stitch (lol)!

Holy Moley! This scared me! Not your stitching, but the scary pumpkins. I have three great-grandchildren and can just imagine them opening a package and screaming! This newer and newer generation seems intrigued by the dead, the gruesome, the different, etc. But they would indeed weep until oldest would tell them it was not real.

Hi Imurdoch. I love this piece! We don't follow Halloween as much in Australia but it is catching on. Now I'm fairly new to XStitch so please allow me to ask stupid questions.
I see this piece is quite large - 22" x 26" I think. When you say you have 18 pages does that mean the picture is divided up into small sections? I ask this because the piece I'm doing now is 16" x 12" and I only have 2 pages to work from. Do you print the pages out yourself, or is this how it comes from the supplier?

Can't wait to see the pumpkins come to life!

Hi Sylvia! I do not believe in silly questions ... only silly actions based on UNasked questions! :) The Night Watchman pattern is 25 pages - it comes in a book-style pattern. Each page is approximately 8 columns by 10 rows, so approximately 8,000 stitches per page. (The finished piece will have 200,000 stitches.) I am stitching the piece on 18-count Aida and the finished size will be approximately 22" by 28". Your picture may be stitched on a smaller count fabric (like 14-count Aida), which means the individual stitches are larger, and fewer stitches make for a larger finished piece. Hopefully I have answered your questions! Happy stitching!
