You are going way beyond my pay grade. What series are you looking at? I have never worked with silks or even looked at patterns that use it. Pam

Pam looking at Spring by the Sea by Jeanette Douglas. There is also Summer, Fall and Winter. I would love to do them as a single piece. But the embellishment packs (one for each season) includes the floss/silk for it is pricey for a 6x6 section of it.âšď¸ Trying to justify it but am concerned about the silk. Of course the spouse asked me: âdid you have a problem using it when you did the tapestries during the Middle Agesâ. Goof.

Found this website with tips...it's for needlepoint, but silk threads are silk threads...thought they were pretty helpful...
Iâve never done cross stitch with silk, but I have done some needlepoint. I had to keep the yarn really short, or it wore pretty thin (but needlepoint canvas is rough)

Iâve havenât any experience with stitching with silk threads. Youâe drawing all of us without any experience, but I dimly remember there was a discussion on working with silk thread on this chat-board. I have one of the patterns âsectionsâ of âBy the Seaâ by Jeanette Douglas In my Wish list and thatâs probably going to be where it stays; I donât want to pay the price of the âaccessoryâ kits that have the silk threads and beads, etc.

Weâre all waiting like spiders for a stitcher to come on the chat-board with experience in stitching silk thread.....

I have never worked with silk (way beyond my pay grade, lol) but I did find some info on a site that I found interesting. http://www.nordicneedle.net/guides/stitching-materials-guides/threads/stitching-with-silks/#.XRLFpy2ZNN0
