Using a different size aida cloth
I like this pattern, but was wondering if you have a pattern for it using 14 count aida instead of 18?

Hi ebby 929-

Since this is just a pattern, you can change it to 14 count (I often do this with patterns) but it will make the stitched design much bigger 16.0" x 9.0" rounded up approximately for the design size alone. This does not include an additional 6.0" to these figures for framing. To change to 14 count, you divide the number of stitches 224 and 125 by 14 and add 6 inches to each # for framing (I always round my answers up). Better off more fabric than too little---so I would cut my fabric for this no smaller than 22.0" x 15.0". This design is fully stitched so this will be an ambitious project. It is beautiful and since I love the fall, I have my eye on this one too. Happy stitching.

Thanks for your information! So basically, you just have to use a bigger size aida cloth, correct? Otherwise, you can use the pattern as is and it will turn out ok?

Hi ebby 929:

I liked this pattern choice so much I just purchased it yesterday! This item is sold as a pattern only. If you wish to purchase the "suggested" fabric which is 18 count it is listed below the picture of the pattern under the supplies tab along with the DMC floss and you can check the boxes for what you want. If you want to change to 14 count aida which is what I will be doing, follow my suggestion above for fabric size when purchasing---and yes you're correct, the 14 count fabric will be cut larger (14 stitches per inch of fabric instead of 18 stitches per inch of fabric) and is, I feel, easier on the eyes. Happy stitching to you.

Dont forget, when you increase the pattern size, besides the material, you will also be using more embroidery floss.

If I was going to change this to 14 count....and you do know there is 16 count too....anyway, if you use 3 strands of floss, it would really pop out & look much richer is color
