No, it is just a cross stitch pattern; the cloth & floss are extra.

The key words in counted cross stitch are pattern and kit.

A Cross Stitch PATTERN is just the "map" or pattern design. When you get a pattern you get the paper, you then gather/purchase the fabric of your choice , needle, floss skeins and hoop (if you choose to use one)

A Cross Stitch KIT is a ready to work open the package and start stitching.
When you get a kit, you receive the pattern (as above), fabric (predetermined color and count), floss (the company's choice of floss and quantity of floss) and needle. You provide the hoop (if you choose to use one).

The kit is wonderfully convenient. I use to love doing them. But through the years I have found that I have a lot of my own floss (DMC) and I like choosing the fabric count and color. I can also reuse the pattern easily. So, I prefer getting patterns.

I hope this helps.
It took me forever to understand perennials and annuals in my garden...until someone told me that "annuals" were a pain in the ars (replanting every year). : )

Anyone know a ditty for patterns and kits
