I understand what it is, I have done them in the past. What I don't know is what color the material is that the pattern is stamped on.

Looks like ecru or ivory. Not white.

If I was stitching this Dresden plate I would use darker colors for the stitching than they show. For me the colors are just too light. It is a beautiful project. Doing several of them with cotton fabric borders between them would make a very pretty wall hanging. Enjoy your stitching.
