RGB values to DMC floss
I have been into cross stitching since I learned about it in grade school and I now being more experienced want to tackle something far larger then any kit would do, the colors that I was able to get the RGB values for, but its been hard finding a way to convert my RGB values to DMC floss, anyone able to help me?

Are you wanting to use a computer program to create a design?

Below is a link that shows the conversion. However, I asked my earlier question because there may be some programs you can buy that allow you to easily use your RGB values to find your DMC colors. There are a bunch of different cross stitch design software options out there.

(edit)no I'm not I am taking the color values from a picture and using the rgb values from those

the design is very basic in a sense, its gonna be 1pixel on the image is 1 color and its mostly made up of approx. 30ish colors, so I don't need a pattern, I just need to get as close to the RGB values I have that match up with DMC or really any company floss that I need lets just say HYPOTHETICALLY the RGB value I have is

145/30/20 rgb value
140/45/30 DMC RGB value, DMC floss 25

note all values are made up and not intended to be taken seriously
I just need a way to take my 30ish colors from rgb to a dmc floss number

(edit)P.S. that link you gave me is incomplete

(edit again) at the moment I am 80% done gathering the colors and there is only 17 atm, 30 was just a guess

DMC Color Picker --> http://gimplearn.net/dmc_color_picker.php

will help you visually pick out the right match for your RGB color.

Mau, I responded one time when the post was 2 years ago. Now I look at the date because last time I was so serious when I answered. Peace Pam
