Needlepoint on mesh canvas
Hello,
I am interested in working on cross stitch designs that are already printed on a 14 mesh canvas. I am looking for large art pieces. Designs like flower vases, lakes... I have bought a pieces that I am working on from JoAnn Fabric that is a Wine Tuscen View 14x20 in., which I love and easy for me to work on. However, I do like larger pieces. Is there anything like this that I can purchase?

If you find a nice counted cross stitch you like, you might try it on a large aida grid...like a ten count. That way the projects would be much larger. If you do this, you will need more thread to cover the area. Good luck.

The stitches used for needlepoint and counted or stamped cross stitch are somewhat different (having done both in my time). You should be able to google needlepoint designs and find hundreds of designs available. Most needlepoint is done with yarn instead of floss so you may need to purchase a whole new set of supplies. Personally, I find a stamped design on canvas mesh a little tricky to do. Sometimes it's hard to know where to place the colors accurately -- depending on the size of the mesh and the detail of the design.
