Perfect for my Chef daughter!!
She just got a job at Microsoft, in one of their cafe's as a soup/sauce chef!! How appropriate!!

Now, my question: how would I go about changing the color scheme?? Her favorite color is green......like emerald green......so what would you all suggest for the contrasting color? Or should I just stitch it as is? Maybe add "Chef Danielle"?

What do you think?

Great picture! Your daughter should love it. If you have a big stash of floss or you can go to a store, just compare the colors that are called for in the pattern and replace with something similar only in green. Try to keep the intensity of color about the same unless you really want to change it up. It looks like the diamonds are already a light green, so you may only have to change out the darker background color to darker shades of green. You might think about changing the color of the stove to a light pink or yellow just for a little contrast. That way there won't be too much green. However you decide to do it, nobody will know that your way isn't the way the pattern was. It is all your choice, so just be creative. Hope that helps!

Congratulations to your daughter. I love her name!
Bruce makes great suggestions but if I were to stitch it, I would go with the pattern as is. There is plenty of green in it and it looks adorable.
Have fun stitching it. Put the fractal aside and do this one! LOL

Marlene,

It's great that your daughter is now a chef at Microsoft! Set aside the fractual and stitch the Lady Chef instead. Do personalize it by adding Chef Danielle. Give yourself a change of pace.

If you do decide to change the colors, do as Bruce suggested. Go to Joann's or Michael's where they have all of the DMC thread colors and pick out new ones. Make sure they're are the same intensity of color. They also have the book of DMC threads to give you ideas in deciding which threads to use.

Definitely put her name on it. I did a country house scene for my parents and I put our last name on the mailbox. They loved the added touch. It just make it so personal.

Ok. Thanks so much!! When I am able to purchase it, I will stitch it as is but add CHEF DANIELLE across the top, arching over the lady chef!

Appreciate the input!! Fractal is set aside!

Kristi,

When you get the time, could you post the supplies for this? Thank you! I want to get this ordered ASAP!

Is it stitched on blue Aida? Or is it completely covered in stitches?

Thanks! I know you're busy, so when you can!

Marlene,

I got the supplies posted for you :) The design is stitched on 14ct. White Aida (hence, the need for 17 skeins of DMC 820....yikes!!) But as you know, you can stitch it on any color of fabric that you choose to :) Congratulations to your daughter on her new job!! It sounds so very cool and what a great place to work for!! I am sure she will definitely enjoy this piece and I agree that the personalization will make it that much more special for you both :) Happy stitching and as always, keep us posted on your awesome work!! Happy Holidays, Marlene!
