MY LAST MINUTE ANNIVERSARY GETAWAY
Thanks again for all the good wishes and suggestion Here is what we did: Went to a shopping mall (Mid-Rivers in St. Peters, Mo. I had been complaining that I haven't been to Macys for a couple of months. So, I went shopping. After shopping for two hours all I bought was a pair of panties, on sale, for $4.23. He went to the movie theater and saw the most recent Star Wards film. He had a private showing -- only person in the theater. From there we went to Olive Garden for lunch. On the way home we stopped at a grocery store and bought a mini cake. Once we got home he spent most of the afternoon either working on his genealogy project. I worked on cross stitch while listening to an audio book. Not a very exciting day. Pretty much the same as what we do most days.

New time we decide to go on the spur of the moment getaway I am going to plan it six months in advance.

Nancy,
It sounds like both of you enjoyed doing things together and separately for your anniversary. We have done the same thing for our anniversary. I agree, even spontaneous ‘getaways’ take some planning.....

It seems like you had an anniversary like most of us that have been married forever. I think it was nice just to get out of town for a little while and had a great lunch. And cake, most importantly! My mom and dad's last anniversary they stopped at a hot dog stand and had a hot dog. Then they went to the mall and Mom just window shopped and Dad sat and people watched (his favorite thing). I think it would be fun to start now and bounce a few ideas around. At least you bought a pair of pretty panties. I go for Fruit of the Loom tidy whiteys-so see you did do something different!!!! Again, congrats and I wish many more for you both!!!!!! Peace. Pam (Nobody better laugh or make fun of my tidy whiteys!) After a while, some people (like me) have no shame.

Nancy it sounds like you guys had a nice time. I wish I could go to the movies and be the only one there like your DH, less distracting, more enjoyable, and I would feel like I got my monies worth. We don't even celebrate our anniversary anymore, between all the birthdays and holidays, ours is in January, there isn't any money left. The last one we did celebrate was my favorite. We had "date night". We went to McDonald's and a movie, it still cost over $50.

Pam I agree with you on the tidy whiteys I like my bits covered up. I never did get into or understand the bu** floss trend. I tried them but they were uncomfortable and I always felt like people could tell I was wearing them.😶

Pamela -- glad to hear that you stick with your -tidy-whiteys" Been doing that for years, except I've been buying Hanes. Recently, the elastic started irritating me and then I developed a rash. Bought a "boy" style as an experiment. More comfortable but six times the price! Will probably buy a few more pairs and wash them by hand every evening.

It is amazing that we are on a cross stitch site discussing "unmentionables."

Nancy it is a wonder how one little thread can lead to such interesting topics...lol Thank goodness we are monitored or who knows what would be discussed.😂

It’s better than discussing the different methods of getting rid of toenail fungus....

Bermuda, ewwww. I feel like all of us should break out the cheese cake, coffee, and sit around the table to discuss unmentionables and toe fungus. "Thank you for being a friend"🎶

I am glad that others still wear the white unmentionables. Now, we are stitchers however, we are modern (no matter the age, stitching seems to be that elusive young pill) and we do think outside of the box sometimes. As we have discussed before, we are all neighbors who come in the back door without knocking. The best type of neighbors and we always have tea or coffee. And we talk and cross stitch, tell funny stories, say prayers for friends who need it, and pitch in a helping hand for those that have trouble with whatever. So this is the best place to be anytime. Pam

Yes, this is the best place.
Thank you ECS, I don't think they know what a service they provide for us besides being the best cross stitch site there is!
