IN MY OPINION -- This would definitely work well using 14 ct aida. You could also use 16ct over one which would be the same size as 32ct over 2.

I don't have experience using 11ct. You would definitely have to use at least three strands or maybe four in order to get good coverages

Thank you for the information.
My eyes are not real good so thought using the lower ct. would be easier on the ole peepers.

NAN -- almost all of this on this chat have vision challenges. I am legally blind in my left eye. I have a hole in the retina that cannot be fixed. I do have some peripheral vision. I have correctable vision in my right eye. Unfortunately, I cannot stitch while wearing my glasses. I enlarge my patterns and take off my glasses and stitch slowly.

I know from where you are coming I had retina surgery and had much of no vision for about six months but I was very fortunate in that the vision did return. I have not done any stitching since but feel it is time to try it out that is why I thought the 11 or 14 ct. would be of help. Thank God for the vision I have it could have been a lot worse. Stitching slow is my middle name just not quick at it.

love this pattern.. thinking of doing it for my niece (on 16 ct), who has cats.. my problem instead of vision is osteoarthritis, some in my right hand but more severe in my left hand (unbelievable, since I am right handed).. effecting thumb joints and wrist on left hand..
finished big project before holidays & have not attempted anything since.. cannot grip/ pick up anything using my left thumb/ hand..

dr told me yesterday, rest is the best thing.. it has improved in the last few weeks, so I hope to be able to start stitching again, maybe in 2/3 months.. steroid shot possible, but I opted to hold off.. try rest & thumb support first..

hard not to be able to stitch but, no sense wasting drs' time if I don't follow instructions..
happy stitching

Sure hope your hand feels better soon.
I also do a lot of other types of hand work and it can be miserable when your hands bother you I have taken to wearing one of the hand supports bought at Hobby Lobby it does help a bit there is not quite so much strain on the hand.
I am going to work this piece on the suggested fabric count but am not to sure about working on it as I have never worked this ct before but one has to start sometime on new things.

Nan,
happy to hear from you.. hand is somewhat better; I also bought gloves from Walgreens (about $20 pair) they help some..warmth seems to help..

getting to the "cats", have you thought about using 16 ct? would end up same size, but squares are a little larger to work. I had a design that called for 32 & after much thought worked on 16 ct; came out great..this was my last project & think this is what did my hand in.. (glad I got it finished; it is for my grandson who graduated college in the spring, university mascot)..
let me know what you decide..
happy stitching
Darlene

Consider putting this pattern on yellow aida. It might make the colors pop more.
