Fabric forBetter Homes and Gardens Heirloom Christmas stockings
I have 2 stockings almost done and the fabric used is very different: 32 count linen over 2 for the Stitching Studio that I started a few years ago and 14 count Aida over 1 for Santa gardening that came as a kit which I started Christmas before last.

They will be lined, but it seems like the sturdier Aida would hold up better.
I'm thinking of using fabric that fits the subject rather than making the rest of them all alike.
I have 3 or 4 whimsical stockings approximately the same size on Aida with the stitching complete and read to finish that I made several years ago

Do you think it matters at all if I mix fabric textures and maybe even colors, or do you think that the true Heirloom Stockings should be all be stitched on even weave?

ps I only leave about an inch and a half on each side of the stockings, since the seam line is 1/2 inch versus the 3 inches recommend for items that will be framed. I also leave less than 3 inches on the Prairie Schooler patterns that will not be technically framed but some type of fabric or flat fold method.

Thanks for your ideas: The Serial Starter

I am not of the matchy-matchy type...stitch what pleases your eye and feels good! It's amazing how the things that please you somehow fit together! :)
