Grace & Love Birth Sampler
To answer the first inquiry, NO, it did not come with floss, however, you may be able to order it as a kit. I did not want a "kit" just the leaflet.

I am presently working on this sampler. There will be many things I have not done before, that I will be doing on this pattern. It is more challenging than intermediate. I love a challenge, and I love learning new things, so I am up for it, however, it should not be listed as an intermediate in my opinion, unless you have done ALL the prior stitches before.

Otherwise, I am delighted to have the challenge and the pattern is absolutely perfect for my first grandchild. Thank you for providing a great variety of patterns that most cannot be purchased in a brick and mortar anywhere!

I love that pattern! I've never done that type of long sampler, but I've done four wide samplers of trees in different seasons and there were tons of special stitches. It was a lot of fun and all the stitches were new to me. Definitely not intermediate!

lisah, I took a close look at this design. It is really beautiful! I hope you will show us a picture of it when you finish. I find the colors of the beads most interesting. Thanks for your post.

One thing leads to another!!! I read Lisah's comments and thought....she is mentioning that this design would be much easier if ONE has seen/done these various stitches before. So, you know me, the detective from South Jersey....I googled: Pulled Ring backstitch + crosstitch. I found a website called: Needlework tips and techniques by Carol Leather. She is in Cambridgeshire, England. She explains this "three sided stitch and ringed back stitch". She explains that this as something that is done on "whitework". I have a friend who asked me several years ago if I could make a table runner that did not have color, but had some sort of design around the sides. She really didn't care if it was white/off white or whatever....she just wants something "neutral" that would match all of her tableware. She is a dear friend who now lives in Tennessee. We are old classmates from the Shenandoah Valley. I think this would be the perfect answer. The designer shows how to apply the design IN COLOR on a grid so that you can get the hang of it.

Jerseycrafter! Didn't know that you were from the Shenandoah Valley. My DH days it is beautiful country. I have always wanted to get there.
Last year I did the cross stitch "Shenandoah". I changed a few colors, like the owl's mouth and legs and the colors of the patters on the horse. It is in my UFO bag because I need to frog all of the lettering and start over...white letters on a dark blue background that show fabric were just looking awful. I will return to it some day. I also changed its quote from the song to have it match the song closer. We used to sing it in glee club. Have a great day!
