I had been in the state for almost 45 years and I had never had seen any of painted Aida Cloth of any count. Most of the kits come with plain Aida cloth with instruction and floss and needle sometimes U will get beads or buttons accompany the kit. Enjoy.

FYI -- the pattern has 1/2 stitches, backstitching and French knots.

The fabric is probably a plain color. There are fabrics that are overdyed -- they have subtle shading and can be very pretty depending on the pattern.

MISS C -- I have seen aida cloth with a painted background -- it was usually included in a kit

It is a Dimensions, Inc. kit so you get a plain piece of counted cross stitch fabric in the kit. Be careful some stitchers have run out of fabric in the Dimensions kits. I have never had that problem but I know some on this chat room have. Hope this helps.
