General newbee questions
Does needle size matter when you are doing cross stitch? I am doing stamped quilt blocks.

Also my floss keeps breaking while I am stitching. There are no knots and I am not pulling tight.

Has anyone used colors converted from DFN to DMC? Do they match pretty close to what projects made with the DFN look like?

Hi there

When your floss break that means it is old and U have to change it or replace it and when U are doing stamped cross stitch I use long sewing needle not the one for the cross stitching. Good luck

You might try a new needle, as sometimes there may be a burr in the eye of the needle. Another probl can be that it may need just a bigger needle. And, as dear Miss C said, the foss could be old.

I have not seen a conversion chart for DFN to DMC. Check on line at the DFN and DMC websites to see if there is one available. I've always used DMC floss.

Yes, it does and I was about to explain what I had learned when I remembered that you are doing a stamped project.

Su is absolutely correct. I have done many, many stamped projects - not cross stitch - and using the correct needle makes it so much easier.

Miss C, you are right about old floss. I'm thinking to ditching all the floss that still has the black and gold labels. They've been around too long.........

What is "DFN".. I've never heard of it.
