My wife has been cross stitching for many years, and has never had kits shorted on floss. This is happening on all the kits she has received in the last 4 or 5 years. Very disappointing.

If so go after the making of the kit and ask them for more floss that all what I can tell you.

This kit is by Dimensions Inc., and they are one of the top cross stitch companies. I would contact them and tell them your problem. She also might want to recheck her pattern and make sure she is using the correct amount of strands when she sews. I have had kits from this company and have always gotten more thread than I needed with each kit. Personally though 90% of the time I use patterns and my own DMC floss. I like it better when I can choose my own patterns and supplies.

I am currently completing the Victorian Charm and seem to have enough floss. I have also been cross stitching for some time but I seem to notice nowadays that the floss is not as glossy as before. They now seem to have a sort of dull shine to it.
Is there any reason why this is?

I've had this happen to me a couple of times and for that reason, I do not like to order kits. Wouldn't it be great if the people who put the kits together would also put the brand and number of the floss on the pattern so we could finish our projects without having to contact the company and wait for days or weeks for the floss?

I, too have ordered kits and run out of some floss colors. If they aren't a name brand floss like DMC I've had to look through my colors to find something close. I always prefer to just buy the leaflet and buy what I need floss wise. I just found Everything Cross Stitch and I'm excited to be able to see what other people have to say about cross stitching. I wish I had more time for it! I love the feeling of completing a beautiful project either for myself or for a new baby or wedding. Love to stitch!

I don't like cross stitch KITS for the same reasons given by the others, ie. shorted on floss, fabric with kit hardly big enough to give the framer enough material to work with, etc. So I stick to buying the floss, the fabric and the patterns separately.
