Size in inches finished etc
Could you tell me the size, in inches, of this pattern. Also what count AIDA should be used, as well as all the colors of thread.

I am hoping to make a Christmas tree skirt and do "I Saw Three Ships A Sailing..." written around the bottom and cross stitch 3 ships. I love this ship and hope it's not too complicated!

Hello,

The fabric suggested for this design per the instruction is "Stitchers Choice", so you can choose any fabric that you would like. Our default setting for this type of instruction is 14ct. White Aida fabric, so that's what you will see listed on our website. You can choose whatever fabric you want though. And depending on what count of fabric you decide to use, will decide what the size of your design will be in inches. If you're going to stitch with 14ct. Aida fabric then your sizing dimensions would be the following:

Fabric Size:   16" x 22"  (14ct fabric)

We recommend at least 2 inches of extra fabric surrounding the design.  A piece of 16"x22" fabric will give you 2.3" of fabric on the left and right, and 2.0" on the top and bottom.

The stitched area will be 17.5" x 12.0".

If you are going to use a 32ct. fabric so the design would be smaller in size (not by much though) here is what your sizing dimensions would be:

Fabric Size:   15" x 20"  (32ct fabric stitched over 2)

We recommend at least 2 inches of extra fabric surrounding the design.  A piece of 15"x20" fabric will give you 2.4" of fabric on the left and right, and 2.3" on the top and bottom.

The stitched area will be 15.3" x 10.5".

Hope this information helps!

What a good idea! It will be something to cherish always. It doesn't look complicated but it would take me a long time to complete it.
