Design element?
I cannot figure out why there is a bite out of the sash at the hip. Does this bother anyone else? If I stitch this one, I will fill it in. I was just digging through my stash to find all my angel charts and came across this one again.

Have no idea why there is a "chunk" type piece gone. I would do the same thing that you are going to do and fill it in. Who knows what the designer was thinking. I am sure there is a reason.

It might be a ruffle just as the ruffle turns? I think that because of the similar affect up on her neck.

Maybe it's meant to show it's a sash and so allows a little edge of the white gown to be seen. To me, it looks odd. I agree with Syagel, I would fill it in following the line of the sash

I am still studying this pattern! Now I think that the sash starts at the right hip, goes up and across the bodice and over the left shoulder. Across the back from left shoulder to right thigh and across the front. I don't know how it gets over the right shoulder.

I looked at the other picture of it that just shows the upper half of the bodice and can't figure it out. The model looks like it was done on 16-count bay leaf and is throwing off my visual sense of the upper sash area

jsimon, I have this pattern. I just took it out to look at the symbols regarding her sash. I don't see any of these symbols up next to her shoulder. She is holding a harp near her right shoulder. I believe that is what you are seeing. Since the part of her sash you are referring to has an "end" on it. I am thinking she wanted to give the impression of it "going around her waist" at that point. I think it is called Artistic License!! I have a wonderful piece of 32 count Summer Khaki Linen I will use!! We seem to be on the same wave length today!! Be well my friend...........

I can't even figure out what we are looking at here. The visual image is so poor. Jersey is probably correct about the harp. On the other hand if it bothers you, then fill it in. We have to make modifications sometime. I know that I haven't been able to figure something out and DD looked at it and said "Mom, this is supposed to be a whatever, can't you see so and so". Can your husband take a look?

I just looked at my chart again. The harp is just made of gold stitches, there is sash on both shoulders. But this is OK. I'm starting to see it a different way. I showed it to my husband and he couldn't figure it out either. But I think it's supposed to be the way I described it early. Plus, artistic license! I love everything she designed, so I will just trust her instincts.

The angel of healing I'm working on now is pretty bizarre in that her shawl goes in-between sections her gown. But I love the colors and beats, which is why I am stitching her. She looks Mardi Gras to me!

Hi Texas! If you click on the picture of the design....then press your "Ctrl key and your + key" at the same time you can keep making the picture bigger. You will see she is holding a harp...also...since I have the design....there is a close up for the stitches that are placed in the harp. Also...to return you screen to normal size again...Press "Ctrl and your - key" at the same time....this will get you back to normal!!! Have a great day!

jersey, thank you. "Larger image" didn't do much. I am so grateful for your, Bermuda and Mary's help in assisting me to become more computer literate.
