Easy Peasy
These adorable designs are quite easy to stitch, finished this one in a few days. Haven't framed it yet but looking forward to having a collection of several of this series. I think even a beginner could accomplish this design without much difficulty, not a lot of subtle shading, straightforward color blocking. Good luck!

I didn't know that they were Amish. I Googled "Amish cross stitch" and found tons of them including this one. Now I want to do them all!!! Oh dear.

Love the Amish and their simple, peaceful ways. I read a lot of Amish fiction and listen to books on CD in the car too especially at lunch when I am stitching. These patterns are adorable and I may just have to add them to my stash as well!
Happy Stitching!

Yes, when I go to Sugarcreek, Ohio and Berlin, Ohio where the Amish live to shop; I'm constantly amazed at these people who still use horse and buggies to travel. One really has to be careful when traveling in the Ohio countryside in these areas, going up and over the hills in a car can result in terrible accidents. I do not pass a horse and buggy unless I can keep the car slow and have plenty of distance to see so I don't startle the horse.
Interestingly enough, when the Amish go by many times they will gaze at us and I gaze back at them as though we are both from a completely different civilization. When the men marry, they grow beards.
The Amish are wonderful craftsmen with wood and make BEAUTIFUL tables, chairs, bedroom sets. They are expensive but the furniture is the type you pass down from generation to generation. The women are known for making beautiful hand-made quilts!!

What a lovely description Burmuda. I always mix the Amish up with the other people who have simple furniture called after them, but can't remember the name right now.

The Mormons? Or the Quakers?
Oh, and many of the Amish are descended from German and Dutch settlers who came into the U.S. many many, many years ago. There are Amish communities here in the states of Pennsylvania and Indiana as well.

Well, I just bought three of these Amish designs. The power of suggestion! The furniture might be from the Shakers. They do a lot of round boxes like hat boxes too.

I bought two.....for a start.

It was the Quakers I was thinking of. I love their furniture.
