Black floss
I've just finished doing a lot of work in black. I noticed that when it knots it really knots. It's very hard if not impossible to get the knots out, even Thread Heaven didn't help. Has anybody else noticed this?

I have had trouble with DMC black for a long time. I was never happy with how it didn't cover completely and yes, knotted. I have switched to Anchor black and have had better results. I still use DMC for all other colors. Linda

Hi Mary,

I had no answers for you, but was glad to hear Linda's suggestion myself. Just wanted to say that this stained glass is coming along beautifully. Please keep posting updates. I can't wait to see it finished. 😃

Darn it I just bought 3 skeins of black DMC floss because this is just the first of the four seasons. Thank you for your interest Bluejay. I think I just might be finished this weekend....fingers crossed. I'll be keeping up the photos.

Same here. Loss of coverage with black. I hope the company will rectify this issue because this is the second project I've experienced with this deficiency. I will order a different floss on my next project.

Thanks for the warning Linda. I am due to start anther project shortly that has a fair bit of black in it. I will definitely be getting another brand of black to do the stitches.

Thanks for the Anchor info about their good black floss. I didn't know you could still buy Anchor. I found mine on Amazon UK. I know I'll be able to exchange my 4 DMC blacks for other colours at my little hobby shop. I'll be using A LOT of black in the near future so it will be good to have a product that works.
