A bit off the subject, BUT.....
Speak with your doctor about what PRN (as needed) medications he/she has on the list for you after surgery. My doctor did NOT have Tylenol as a PRN medication in the hospital and when I requested it (the Tylenol) 3x during an overnight hospital stay, they billed me for $165.00. When I checked into this with Medicare, their rationale was that since I had other pain relievers, ie. Percoset as part of my medication and Tylenol was NOT on my medication regime in the hospital, they wouldn't pay for a pain medication request by patient. OK, and we wonder WHY there is a drug problem and the high cost of medications. I did remark to them that "that's the most expensive three Tylenol pills I've ever swallowed".

Good info, Bermuda. You could have bought a life time supply for yourself and your offspring for that amount of money! It just shows how the consumer gets taken. Who would even think to ask about something like that. I can handle most things with aspirin or Tylenol as pain reliever. I don't like strong medication or opioids. I don't need that monkey on my back.
Hope that you are feeling better. Have you tried filing with your secondary? Medicare does not pay for our medications, our secondary and tertiary do that. So it would be worth a try. I just got a refund for $49 from the roofing company after questioning their billing system. I know it's not much but why should I throw my money away.
I'm restricted to the house, my allergies went crazy yesterday and my eyes are so swollen that I cannot possibly expose my fellow humans to this ghastly sight. I used meds for the first time in ages and have been stumbling around like a drunk. I don't do well on that stuff.
I did a little planting, etc and grass pollen is the big thing in our area I learned after the fact.

I feel for you Texas! Wow! Those are some allergies bad enough to close your eyes! Are you allergic to rag-weed or all the spring/fall pollens produced?? I hope you feel better soon!! I really feel for people with allergies. One woman I spoke to says it's like having "a cold all year". I don't think I could hack that!

Like you, I've learned to be really PROACTIVE on the surgery/post surgery Medicare stuff, but this one with the Tylenol just slipped by me. God forbid, anymore surgeries but if I do need another one, I'm requesting my doctor put TYLENOL as a PRN medication when I see him for my PRE-SURGERY work-up ie. labs, etc. We already paid the bill but it's live and learn. Just got a bill from the anesthesiologist and fortunately when I called our Medicare Provider, they checked and said its completely paid. The anesthesiologist office stated they "received the full payment the same day that they mailed us the bill".
Uh, ok, but over the years, I've heard that same answer a few too many times...

Bermuda, sometimes the system actually works.

My allergist said that I'm allergic to Mother Nature. It's mostly grasses, trees and certain animals. My biggest problem is in the spring. It was very windy yesterday but a beautiful day and I love being outside. GD turned seven yesterday and we had a family dinner at her house. Tomorrow is her party and I sure hate for people to see me like this but I can't miss her party. She holds grudges.
Well, Bermuda, allergies aren't fun but it could always be worse.
I'm working to resolve a billing issue for DH's heart cath. Medicare paid, they send it on to BC/BS but supposedly that didn't happen this time around and the hospital wants in excess of $800 from us. Not much but why should we pay when we already pay a huge amount in premiums for health insurance every month. I don't know who dropped the ball and don't care but get very frustrated when I have to spend precious time making these calls. And we all know how aggravating those phone menus can be. It used to be "press zero" but they got wise to that one and now it's "incorrect option, please try again". Then there is the horrible musical selection one has to listen to...........

And the lousy audio...

Bermuda, hope you are recovering quickly!

They prohibit you from bringing in over the counter meds...the Dr had to/should have approved the use...What a racket!

Tex, they have eye drops for allergies! Try one of those eye masks that can be chilled? Wind is blowing like crazy her, too! But I don't have a munchkin prodding my backside for action...unfortunately... :)

Be well, Kids!

Nobody cares what we look like...IF WE'RE THERE! :)

V, I use Patinol. I must have overdosed last night because when I had to get up, I felt like I was drunk. It was a brand new bottle too. What a relief when I put them in.
DD ordered the mask for me. I understand that there are cutouts for the eyes - how convenient and a great look! Like a racoon!

You stay well too and stay out of the wind. I'm waiting for GD to come home so she can get the mail. She earns rewards when she does "chores", like finding my eyedrops after hides them first, or finding my glasses, bringing in the mail. That's about all she does. Well, she styles my hair.
She also brought home a lima bean sprout in a plastic cup. Just what I needed more responsibilities. I do feel honored though.

YES!!!!

I should never have divulged my cell phone number. Now they contact me via visual voicemail. What the heck is that? Can't they just leave a regular message? My eyes are improving and I had hoped to be able to stitch but I cut my finger. I can't risk staining the fabric because I'm using overdyed floss and can't wash that thing.

I heard that cold cucumber slices on the eyelids helps cool, refresh and reduce the swelling.... an added benefit is you can eat them after you complete your 'eye spa'...

Hahaha, how funny, Susie. DH had to endure the same joke on Thursday night at dinner. :)
