Stitch for Charity.
I am looking into doing some cross stitching for charity. I did find a few sites by Googling. Does anyone else do this and do you have any recommendations?

That is such a lovely idea. Sorry, I don't know of any but I am sure they are out there. I love how people crochet hats for newborns. Maybe stitching birth samplers for babies at hospitals or stitch patterns to auction off at Cancer benefits or Relay for Life events? Just some thoughts.

Went to the cyber stitching site suggested here! They have some great opportunities to stitch for charity!

Cyberstitchers.com has some charities listed. A great idea... :)

I do a lot of stitching for World of Charity Stitchers. I found the information on cysberstitchers.com that VCESS has already recommended. They prefer smallish pieces (8" x 8" squares).

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital used to accept bookmarks. I don't know if they still do. I've thought about doing some since they're small enough to take to doctor appointments. I found their address awhile ago from cyberstitchers.com. Their address is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, c/o Donor Services, 595 North Parkway, Memphis, TN 38105-1940.

Nordic Needle asks for donated bookmarks also. They do it annually. If I remember correctly, your crafted bookmarks are then given to school children. Nordicneedle.com

I cross stitch for a group it is called quilts for older children and adults, you have to be approved but we ate very active, already working on next years quilts, you would stitch for the theme and some one else does the quilting. Hope this helps

My local animal shelter takes art donations for auction at their yearly fundraiser. I nice stitched pic of a cat or dog brings in a bit of money either in the raffle or in the auction itself.
