Crooked work
I have bought several Dimensions Kits and was wondering if anyone has had a problem with their work being crooked.
I have tried everything I know of to try and keep this from happening. I thought it was my imagination. So I bought my own fabric. I did my last kit using my own store bought fabric and it came out spot on. I would appreciate it if anyone has some feed back on this. Thank you

I have never noticed it before, but the current one I am working on is definitely crooked. The fabric in this one is softer so I wondered if that had something to do with it. A friend gave me the kit from her stash so I don't know if that is the original fabric or not. have you been able to frame them straight when you are finished? You have me worried now. I am about half done Feline love gold petite kit.

I think stretching will probably take care of it....we've all run into fabric that is not "squared up". You just have to be mindful of margins, measurements... :) I remember a kit...long ago...that lost almost 1/2" on each side...looked like a parallelogram...I was too unsure of my skills back then, trashed the fabric, used my own...grumbling and cursing a lot... :)

So far no, I haven't had any issue with a Dimensions kit being crooked. At the moment I am working on a 5x7 piece, so maybe it has something to do with the size of the project or the fabric in the kit not being cut exactly straight?

I was finishing a bookmark and I told my husband that something was "off". He, who is analytical, looked at it for awhile and told me that the fabric wasn't straight. I wasted so much time trying to find an answer for such a small project....

I agree with one of the other replies to my question. The fabric in these kits is very soft and if you really look at it
good it is cut way out of square. I have one more kit left to do and I will be buying my own fabric again. Thanks again.

This is why I rarely buy a kit to stitch because of the fabric may be being messed up or they have their own floss that I don't like. If I find a kit pattern that I really like I buy the kit and toss the fabric and floss and use my own. I really have to like the pattern for me to do that and I have only done it a couple of times.

I don't usually order kits either, but somebody on this chat site introduced me to GeckoRouge. I have ordered two of their kits and while they seem a little expensive they arrive beautifully packaged, good instructions, more than sufficient thread sorted in a booklet and matched to symbols, and excellent fabric. Reading about tossing out the fabric and floss from a kit makes me realize " you get what you pay for " 😉

Murillome-
Just curious - which two kits did you order from Gecko
Rouge?

Is there some kind of new movement to use beiges and grays instead of color? Took a look at the GeckoRouge...man, there were some really gorgeous kits...and it sounds like BEAUTIFULLY built kits....and then there were the patterns that TO ME looked like something drawn the morning after a night of cheap booze/food poisoning nightmares and sweats. WOW. I'm getting OLD.

Hi Bermuda! The first kit I ordered was 'Key To Wonderland' by Shawna Erback. I am working on it now for my dd for Christmas- she has always had a thing for Alice! ( btw she is an accomplished artist- you can see her work on Etsy - type in truenorthwild) But I digress! The second kit I think is called 'Winter Shed' by Dorion Davies. It is a styliized picture of an actual shed in Wales where Dylan Thomas wrote his poetry. We peered in the Windows on a trip last fall. I don't see it on the website so it maybe it is out of stock. Vcess I agree with you! I am sure some of the kits were designed while under the influence of a drug of choice😜
