Just out of curiousity and for fun do you snack or not while stitching. If so what is your go to snack?
I thought for fun and because I am nosey, I thought I would this into the mix and just see what shakes out. (pun intended) I know some people don't snack because they want to keep their material clean but I also know others do but limit it to things that don't leave a mark. I am a terrible snack addict and will do it while doing anything . I try to go healthy with fruit, veggie or nuts but my go to snack when I indulge, because my local grocery store starting carrying them again, is Jelly Belly jelly beans, so addicting, or popcorn with white cheddar seasoning on top, yummy!

Happy snack stitching!

I used to have those Yummy chocolate covered peanut M&Ms nearby. I thought...well....It's mostly protein and it won't mark my work. However, they did leave a mark on my body.

I don't snack while I'm stitching. Snacking tends to wake the dog (especially if it's something sweet) The last thing I need is drool all over my stitching! But confession time, I do take snack breaks....

I do but try and eat something that won't stain my hands or material usually pretzels. If I eat anything else I take a little break and eat and then wash hands before continuing stitching. If not, I wind up with chocolate on my cloth which has happened in the past.
Happy Stitching & Happy Snacking!

PS: Love peanut M&M's too! One of my favs

I too, love to snack, b ut wash my hands frequently so I won't mark the fabric. I love peanut M&M's, cashews and small Receses p-butter cups. My husband is disabled so I am frequently answering his call. Sometimes I feel like Lady MacBeth I wash my hands so often:}!

Prefer not to snack--drink coffee or tea while stitching--no snacking--it leaves marks on cloth and body. Coffee or tea makes me take a break--gotta go to the bathroom!!!!

I have some almond MM's as we speak.

Ooooo...LOVE those almond m&m' s!!! But never with stitching...one or the other, never together. Learned this the hard way...thought I was really smart, always using a container with a lid. An unguarded moment proved how stupid this human can be...and clumsy. I was using an unidentified type of aida from Hobby Lobby...hated it, but time was a factor...got a cup of coffee, tripped/bumped/jumped. Sigh. I had no idea how fast coffee could dye a piece of white, unidentifiable aida! Tried all the "tried and true"...ran out of time, started again...with a piece of nice fabric...I was almost 2/3 through a pattern that I detested..still will not look at Elmo...never again! I accept that I am a clumsy fool even when sitting, I only drink water and never eat/snack. It's not like I couldn't stand to skip a calorie, or a 1000. LOL

I'm with dave and VCESS - water only. Eating is out, period, because there is always residue on the fingers but I did transport my stitching basket with a cup of tea on a tray - once. Only once! The tea spilled and stained the fabric permanently. I tried everything from Clorox to dry cleaning. After I threw it out and began again, I wondered if dipping the entire project in tea would have worked. I take breaks if I require sustenance or should I say "desire" :)!

Nettie, I air pop my popcorn and put Texas Pete hot sauce on it. It's so tasty but please not while stitching. I no longer buy jelly beans because I cannot stop eating until the bag is gone. Sad, I know.

Don't snack while stitching but always have a bottle of water nearby. You would think I would be a size 8 but I'm not, depending on the manufacturer either a 12 or 14. Maybe I should stitch 12 hours a days! I try to stay away from junk food but I've never met a cookie, cake or pie I didn't like. I try to stay with healthy snacks and love Greek yogurt. But speaking of M&M's, has anyone tried the new Caramel M&M's ? They are to die for!!! Nothing better than caramel and chocolate!!

I have a break at 11 am and and one at 4 pm. I drink mostly ice water but have morning coffee and tea in the afternoon. The snacking idea is not encouraged over here.
