Put it away!
Has anyone done "Little Girls Are Made Of"? I had so much trouble I had to put it up. Designer Bobbie G. One of my biggest problems was hopscotch blocks of about 400 quarter stitches not vertical or horizontal but at an angle. A lot of symbols were not legible, mostly 2 quarter stitches in same block. Read on chat where symbols on different design by Bobbie G were not legible. After many many hours on this project I had to stop. No joy, no fun. I have started new project and am having a lot of fun. P.S. It was very hard to stop but I'm sure my blood pressure is better!

Considering the hundreds of hours we stitchers devote to our hobby, we expect to enjoy what we are doing. I'm behind your decision 100%. I put away my Monet Waterlilies when it was half finished because I was finding it tedious. Felt a twinge of guilt starting a new project, but quickly realized how much more I was enjoying what I was doing😀

I agree! Hobbies are supposed to be enjoyable and help you relax.
I have more than 1 in my "unfinished box" that are in various stages of completion that for whatever reason I stopped working on. Periodically, I have a look at the contents, and sometimes pull something out and work on it again.

I am definitely in your corner. A chart that requires so much thinking is not what I want or need in a design. I am not sure how designers get to this place, but it rankles every stitcher.
I once had the temerity to confront the daughter of a very famous, deceased designer about symbols that so closely resembled each other that I was forced to stop stitching. She heard me! Astonishly, she changed some symbols, made me promise not to tell anyone and allowed me to finish what I think is one of my best projects. Others? Stoppjng always works!

Murillome, I am doing Monet's waterlilies as well. It is a bit tedious since it is almost all confetti, but am determined to finish. I have done others when I get a bit too frustrated with all of that confetti.

I often wonder if these designers actually stitch up their designs before publishing them. Seems a lot of problems would be discovered and corrected before publishing saving us poor stitches hours of anguish😅

Jmirz- waterlilies was the first coverall I attempted- was not too familiar with how to handle things-I have gotten so many hints from this chat room,eg hilighting the stitches after you stitch them. This alone keeps me on track and prevents hours of frogging! I am sure I will get back to it one day😀

Frogging a "bunch" of confetti? I would rather burn it! LOL

I'm right with you on that VCESS. I have worked on some projects that I paid a little more for the better fabric and the specialty threads but I still would pitch it before I frogged out a huge place with confetti stitches. Just don't have the patience to do that.

What does the terminology mean when you say a project has a lot of confetti?
