Thanks
Thank you all of you that responded to my chat. Now I feel like I belong to a group of friends.I am glad that others use the loop method. I should not tell on myself but a couple of my first projects I ran the stitches at the end and did not have the sense to even cut the "tails" of my thread on back. I was afraid the stitches would unravel. While I am fessing u( a couple of my first projects (I swear I read the instructions) the stitches should go one way. Well, one row I did go one way then the next row slanted the other way. Gulp. I admitted it to all of you but none of my friends know. I honestly think I threw them away to erase the crime . (and everyone is free to call me Pam.] Showing my age I will always sign out "Peace" I had to use that word in school because-brace yourself-teachers have to break up fights.

Pam, first off welcome to the site always enjoy new people. Second never worry about an oops, we have all done them, that is why we all have come to know frogging so well! Again welcome and enjoy everyone's comments - serious, goofy, sentimental, heart-touching, and out right hilarious!

Hi Pam!
ALL of us have have made their share of stitching mistakes. I messed up and did NOT read the instructions by having my some of my X’s slant one way for 4 or 5 stitches, then the other way for 2 or 3 stitches, then 4 or 8 more stitches the other way IN THE SAME ROW!
Those were the good old days .....like when I did about a one inch by one inch area and the stitches were in the wrong area of the pattern OR I had my iron on STEAM
And steam-ironed a section of the pattern where the ‘Not Colorfast’ Sampler Floss was because I hadn’t rinsed out the floss before using it to stitch because Bermuda’s Brain whispered, “You’ll remember not to iron that area.”
Yeah! Right!! SURE!!!! So when the green floss dye ran onto the unstitched area of fabric and I stopped screaming and grabbing the sides of my hair while dancing a bad version of the Mexican hat dance, I collected my thoughts and put it in cold, sudsey water for 3 days and finally was able to remove the stain.
You are in good company..........:)

... and then there are reprobates like me who used to tie KNOTS to secure their floss at the back of the canvas. Luckily, the Cross-Stitch Police have never taken my framed pieces apart to uncover the evidence. Not only that, I have broken some of my needles! Once, I even threw away a partially completed project because of all the mistakes I had made.

Hopefully, there are no cross-snitchers among us cross-stitchers.

And I continue to stitch in my glorious ignominy .... :-D

Don’t worry, I won’t say a word
(can you tell I’m whispering).

No, no, no! If anyone admits to mistakes here, you shall be contacted by the Cross Stitch Police Department, known as CSPD. If they ever take my projects apart, they will find everything anyone has confessed to here, and more! Now that I am an old lady, I know what is hidden stays hidden and should remain so!

I've been on CSPDs most wanted list for a whole bunch of years! Gives me a warm feeling to be on somebody's most wanted...LOL

Ahhhh the CSPD once more......

Ah but you have to admit the pieces are unique!! No one else will have something even remotely like them.

I did my first one without hightlighting the squares on the pattern as I went along. I would leave my needle in the last stitch of the day and of course I had great eyes at that time. Still, what a trip.
