Stocking Direction and Printed Canvas
Can the stocking be done with the 'toe' to the right, and does this kit come on with printed canvas?
Thanks

If you click on the picture it will give all the info you need. It appears to be stitched on 18 count aida therefore is not stamped material. Others, more knowledgeable than me will be able to tell you how to get the toe pointing the other way.

Hello,

This is a counted cross stitch kit so the design will not be stamped onto the fabric. You can switch the direction of the toe if you need to. You just have to make a copy of the chart and use the "mirror" function when making the copy. This will flip the design making the toe appear on the other side. You can do this at print/office stores or if you have a printer at home. You are allowed to make one working copy of the chart. Hope this helps!

Kristi gave you answers to your questions.
I just wanted to tell you that, in my family, the boys' stocking toes pointed one way, the girls' stockings the other! I still have the stocking designed and made for me in 1946 (that Christmas, I was just 9 months old). I look at all that she did and cry.
I am still trying to finish stockings for my great-grandchildren!

Su - who made the Christmas stocking for you in 1946? That would be such a cherished possession. I wish I had some of the Christmas decorations/heirlooms that my mom had out every Christmas but when she passed away almost 5 years ago and we cleaned out her home to get it ready for sale I couldn't find any of her things. Neither one of my brothers know what happened to them either so she must have given them away or sold them. Darn.

If you mirror image the pattern, wouldn't that "mirror" the symbols, too? Shouldn't you mirror-copy the key also? Just asking...never did it, so questions pop in.... 😄

That's a fair question, VCESS, lol! Every printer is different :) We have a pretty advanced printer here in the office so ours is set up to just swap and it doesn't change the symbols. Not sure how it does it to be honest, it just does?! Lol! I am sure most copy places or office stores will be able to help in just getting the image swapped without swapping the symbols too though :)

Thanks, Kristi! You know how the inquiring minds get...like a cat worrying a cricket...the ah-ha moment hopping here, there... 😄
