No. This fabric is 32 fabric threads to the inch and is 70% cotton/30% rayon. Monk's cloth is 7 fabric threads to the inch and is 100% cotton. Monk's cloth actually has four fabric threads that count as 1 for threads to the inch. It is a relatively loose weave fabric used primary (from what I know/understand) for Huck or Swedish weaving.
