Difficulty
This is beautiful and I love it, but I was wondering if anyone has completed this one as of yet and how difficult it was?!
thanks

Yes, it is beautiful and, no, I have not stitched it. However, as with any project, do not let the level of difficulty intimitate you. Just work on it one stitch at a time. I've done several Christmas stockings and birth samplers that I thought I would never finish. Oh, and a wedding sampler too. Somtimes I put it aside for several months and then go back to it. I read somewhere, several years ago, that if a project really becomes a challenge then complete 10 stitches a day and eventually it too will be completed. I've tried it and it works. I find that I can't stop at just 10 stitches. :) Good luck.

This picture has a lot of the design printed on the cloth. All of the white with the script is printed - you do not stitch it. The main stitching is the blue with the starfish...all of the blue background is in half cross- so it is not as difficult as it looks. There is a lot of backstitching though , so if you hate to backstitch, this may not be the one for you. It's pretty though, reminds me of my summers at the beach.

I just read the other post and learned that the project includes areas of 1/2 cross stitch. That can be challenging. I worked one years ago which was made up entirely of 1/2 stitches in colors that were very closely shaded. Somehow I got completely lost and was so frustrated that I cut it up. :) So that is something you might want to consider if you are relatively new to stitching. It is supposed to be relaxing not frustrating. Although I work difficult projects, I stay away from the ones that I know I won't enjoy.

I will assume Texas, that you are referring to 1/4 stitches, not half stitches. They can be challenging for a beginner. But half crosses are easy....make each cross in one direction only - they are not crossed. It is often used as a fill stitch for backgrounds and to add some dimension. Let's not scare people away from trying something different ...lol.

No, MissKitty, it's 1/2 stitches I'm referring to. I love 1/4 stitches. And, no again, I am not trying to scare anyone off. I simply stated my challenges. They show up differently once stitched especially when the floss colors are very similar and I have difficulty finding my place when the entire project consists of them. But that's just me - so please all you stitchers out there do not let me scare you off. :)

My apologies Texas, you obviously know what you're talking about. I can see that doing a lot of half-crosses in similar colours would tend to make one's eyes go crossed!! This one should be a little easier though, since it's all in blue.
