alphabet quilt
I have twin great granddaughters that are paternal. I am in the process of stitching a alphabet quilt for one of them- the Once upon a time quilt. i am going to stich another quilt for the other twin when I finish this and will let their mother picked which one she wants for each of them. Since i have never seen them , they are 16 months old and live in North Carolina and i would like them to have something from me that they can keep for their future. Maybe for one of their children. I am really enjoying making this quilt , to see the different colors come alive and see the different captions that go with each alphabet. Right now I am on "M" Mermaid and i must admit that this one is a little more difficult than the ones before .I can't wait for each day so i can work on it. I have done another quilt for another great granddaughter , this one was "Now I lay me down to sleep" I have to be honest but I will not do another teddy Bear for a long time. The only other quilt that i have found online and that I like is the Mother goose which I will order when I finish this one. I get most of my projects at Hobby Lobby. I have been xstitching for over 60 years and i do stamped as i think the counted is so uniform. Many people have my stitchery. That is all I wanted to say except that i am enjoying working on this quilt more than anything else I have done for many years. Thank you

Welcome, thew! It is a great gift to give a child a quilt. Here I am, at 71, cross stitching since I was five...
And...I still have my baby quilt from my great-grandmother, Nana, in Ohio! Yours will be so cute and an heirloom.

Welcome thew! Glad you are joining us on the EMC chat!
I give you many kudos for having done so many quilts for your family. These are heirlooms that I’m sure your family members love! They can be passed down generation to generation and that is such a beautiful practice! :)

I assume that you meant "fraternal" not "paternal" I have seen a few other stamped alphabet themed quilts. The girls might like having something similar but not exactly the same.
