Snow Day..Stitching Day....then Frogging Day
So yesterday I attempted to make it into work only to turn around after about 1/3 of the way there due to snow and ice and roads being backed up and closed. So, I came home had a cup of coffee and a bagel, slipped the Little House Disc into the player and sat and stitched awhile. Got a lot done on the Welcome Winter Snowman I am working on. Last night when I picked up my stitching again after doing a few things around the house, I noticed my count was off for the snowman's arms and mittens...so the frogging began. So sad, because that mitten looked particularly cute.

The mitten will look cute again - you did it once you can do it again. How frustrating to get so much done, only to have to frog it all. Worse is when you think you've made a mistake, frog it, then realize you hadn't miscounted in the first place! I have been know to do that!!! Now when I pick up a WIP, I double and triple count my area to be sure I am correct. Of course I also have copied my patterns, so I can mark off as I go along with a highlighter. I see there are erasable highlighters out there now, been thinking of trying one, but with my luck, it would work by erasing the pattern as well!

I love that pattern. Does it have alot of half stitches? I am currently working on Stacking Snowmen. Few half stitches. Love snowmen patterns.

It does have some half stitches which I don't like either. The Stacking Snowman pattern looks cute too!

Thanks, Jmirz for the encouragement. Right now I have a mess trying to get all the stitches out. Looked great in the front and the back looked good but not frogging very easily. I too mark off the copy of my pattern with a highlighter but somehow am off count. Hate it when that happens. Sometimes you can fudge it if it's one or two but this is like six or seven and I am not sure how it happened but it does. I think I am pushing and rushing to get it done so I can set it on my desk at work while it is still winter!!!!

Jmirz, put a clear page protector over your pattern and then use the water soluble marker on it. Once you're finished, wipe off the page protector.

There's a new call-in...I have to stay home and frog my snowman's mittens... I called in once and told them I was going to stay home and watch my tomatoes grow...I had had knee surgery and was so bored I called my boss...kind of like playing on the phone when you were a kid. :)

If it doesn't go well and it's not done until the heat of Summer, then how refreshing it will be on your desk then to cool you down. no?
VCESS, I'm sure your boss enjoyed your day off

Judy - thanks for the idea of a page protector (smack my forehead for missing the obvious!). Sometimes the simple ideas are best. Certainly will help save trees when doing my large projects.
