What types are you ordering? I know I have been getting them a lot lately, but trying to ignore them so I can concentrate on getting a lot of stitching done AND not be depressed since it will be months and months before I can plant anything.

I know. For me ‘plant planning’ begins 4 months ahead of time. That way I can pass the time looking through the nursery magazines to see what the nurseries are offering, prices, new plants, etc.
I’ve already ordered Columbine (Aquilegia) (spring-early summer)in different colors- love their red/white, yellow/Orange, and solid yellow. Bought some a couple of years ago and just love the unusually shaped flowers.
Also ordered Phlox, Brunnera, Bleeding Heart (small size),
Graham Thomas honeysuckle vine, Elijah Blue Fescue Grass ( love these because they remind me of little blue hedgehogs rolled in a ball). These are just the Perennials. I
Won’t be buying any annuals till the big-box nurseries get them in but I’m slowly changing over the majority of my plants to Perennials because of the planting work with annuals.

I would love to have beautiful flowers for our house but unfortunately I have a black thumb along with deer and other wild life that won't leave them alone no matter how many fences or chicken wire I put up. I was even desperate enough to use the dawn dish detergent recipe I found on Pinterest to repel them but it was a no go. 😣

You are getting my fingers itchy to start working outside. Of course, lately it has warmed up again and is looking more like March than Jan. Waiting to get slammed with cold again. Anyway, I have had or have most of the ones you mentioned. I planted one columbine years ago and now spend a great deal of time removing it from areas it has gone to where I don't want it. Love the phlox, I also have blue, pink and white forget-me-nots. Love the look of them in the Spring. I do have to control where they are going as well, but that is easy to do. I just wish some of my spring flowers lasted longer. I do enjoy the different cycles of plants, but some that I love don't seem to last too long and I want to enjoy them more. Keep on planning and planting!

Next house we buy I am going to make sure it has a sunny spot or two for flowers, in the meantime I have LOTS of shade. I do however have a bleeding heart purchased on a whim that has done wonderfully and is one of my favorite plants. I may have to look for those in my catalogs as they are a tad pricey at the garden centers.

The bleeding hearts can be a tad pricey from the nurseries
Catalogs as well. I bought two ‘Amore Rose ‘ Bleeding Hearts; they will only be 9 inches tall maximum but supposedly will bloom through the summer.
I’m trying my hand with the Brunnera, “Looking Glass” for a couple of shady corners of the garden this year.
I really like the Joy. Creek Nursery in Oregon. The shipping charges can be kinda high but they carry some plants other nurseries don’t AND the Honeysuckle vines (one was 10” high and the other was 16” tall) were completely green when I received them, after a 3-day trip from the west coast to the east coast. My Jasmine plants were about 2 1/2 feet tall from this same nursery. I learned the more I plants I purchased at the same time from their nursery, the better on the shipping costs. I know I can get honeysuckle and Jasmine cheaper locally but some of these garden centers will label some of their plants ‘incorrectly’ and pass off a different type of plant unless you know the correct flower color such as the Honeysuckle vines I was hunting for.
If you cut the seed heads off the Columbine after they finish blooming, you can control the spread of their seeds
According to the literature I read on them.
Continuing to work on ‘ Sacred Hour’ the other night but my eye strain gave me a head-ache. Will stitch earlier in the daylight.
