Embroidery floss is used. The designer/maker recommends DMC floss and you can buy all that it needed and the cloth because it is all listed on the page that this is listed upon. The only other supply needed is a tapestry needle, also available on this site. These needles do not have a real sharp tip so that they don't poke you and draw blood as you stitch.
