Hail and hiding cats.
We had a flash flood warning in our area this evening, it didn't flood but we could actually do some fly fishing where it washed out the road but that is normal, a stiff breeze could do that. We were fine until the hail hit the tin roof then bam, bam with the hail, a lot of loud noise, poor Maddie went running as close to the floor as she could get with her tail sweeping the floor, my old cat made it up the stairs and laid down, he is half deaf, poor baby, but at least in this case it was a blessing. She came out after it was all done, it looked like it snowed here. I will be waiting on plants for at least another week.

My 3 cats are very astute. I have a piano. One day this spring, it started to cloud up and before we knew it our 3 cats (like a herd, shoulder to shoulder totally touching ran behind the piano, heavy object, no windows (they have been watching the Weather Channel). Right after that, the station gave one of those tornado warnings. The cats are more perceptive than we are. (In our defense, my DH and I couldn't have fit behind there}.

My two cats do their vanishing act at the first little rumble of thunder, I didn’t see either one all afternoon! We had quite a bit of rain today, the creek behind us came up to the edge, but thankfully didn’t go over. We had just put grass seed on a bare spot on the top of the hill beside our house, I’m pretty sure it’s at the bottom now.

Haha 😄 love it Pam. I am still trying to figure out where I would go during a tornado. The new house doesn't have a basement, so crappy, plastic garden tub here I come, at least the garage is around it. The only interior room I have, the rest of the house is open and has windows all over, plus it is a double wide on on a foundation with an added on living room, nope not staying there. No ditches so umm yeah.

Hilarious, Pam! I notice the feral cats go for shelter before any weather alert, but inside ones don't pay attention to any of it.

I think they say an interior placed closet would be some protection. DH and I would probably head down into the crawl space if a tornado was approaching.
It would be a race to see who could hold on the longest in the accompanying high winds, me or the arachnids...

We have 3 cats--rescued ferrals--any loud sound sends them running--traffic, doorbell, not to mention thunder!! On the first nice days here in NE Ohio wife opened windows to let in fresh air that rattle the blinds--everyone of 'em tried to get under the china closet in the dining room--none of them can fit--they are too "fluffy" and the space from floor to bottom of it not nearly large enough--so it's on to the lap of whoever is closet and sitting down!!! The all have their claws!!!

That has to be a few moments of mayhem when the thunder rolls through.....😳
