web access issues... again... my end!
Last weekend it was this site down, then my power went out. Now, there is a sound mitigation wall going up across the road from our farm because of new oil wells. Well, it's partially blocking my access to the only internet tower in the area! Oh, goody. So, for the next 6 to 10 months, we will have sporadic service! At least the only time my canvases wii go down will be by my own hands.

Hey, momcat sometimes technology is great til it's not. And just what is a sound mitigation wall? Is it a wall that will help with the noise from the oil wells? If so, I have never seen one and I live a state that has a pump going in the front of the governor's house. Take care. See you tomorrow. Peace. Pam

Sorry, but a mitigation wall is designed so to limit the noise going to surrounding residences. It's about 35-feet high, made of what looks like I-beams, then padded with 8' x 16' blocks. I'm frustrated beyond words. I hated Colorado since before my husband moved me here. I do like most of the people I've met, and wish I could have contact with others I've lost track of. But now... I'm just drowning in sorrow for a lost neighbor, feeling so alone as others do fun things, and there is no family around. Sorry, but that's the way it is. And my husband's Alzheimer's is rearing it's ugly head.

Don't apologize for your feelings, they are very understandable. This dang wall must have felt like a kick to the face for you. I sincerely hope the wall doesn't interfere with your internet much.

First, I am sorry that your husband has that insidious disease. That , in itself, is impossible to deal with. I am truly sorry about your friend. She sounds like she was a sister rather than a friend. I figure that right now everything is magnified and you are overwhelmed. Anybody would be. What cross stitch project are you working on? You mention canvas. Do you paint, draw, or were you talking about cross stitch? That is so weird about that wall. I have never seen one in Texas or Oklahoma. I don't think I would like that either. No, no I would not like that at all! Take care. You know the saying bloom where you are planted-well, some of the places we've lived I never did bloom or root for that matter! Peace. Pam

Momcat25 - what part of Colorado are you in? I'm in the southern part. We live in a small town of about 3000, but am about to move to a small town that isn't really a town, just a zip code! I have no idea what I'm going to do about internet yet. Thinking we'll be running off our cell phone hot spot.

I'm near Greeley, Co. My stitching runs the gammut from cross-stitch to blackwork to hardanger. I really prefer needlepoint and counted canvas work using 18-count canvas. I don't like gauze... not patient enough for that fine work! I've got Winter Medley by From Nancy's Needle going, a painted canvas, a blackwork pumpkin on 28-count overdyed orange/brown linen, and a Mill Hill kit of soup bowls on pierced paper. And I really need to get sleds done for Christmas! Uff-da! Peace to all of you!

Ahh, yes. Lots of gas wells in that part of Colorado. My mom is in Ft Collins, so have travel I25 quite a bit.
